The Public Service Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have signed a refreshed Memorandum of Understanding committing to ongoing investment by the New Zealand Government to support public sector strengthening in the Pacific.

The Public Service Fale, based at the Public Service Commission, will continue its work with Pacific public service leaders on shared priorities - strengthening workforce systems, transforming service delivery through digital solutions, embedding cultures of integrity, and developing future-ready talent. To respond to regional challenges, the Fale fosters collectivism among Pacific public service leaders sharing practical strategies, co-designing solutions, and strengthening peer-networks - building a resilient public service across the Blue Pacific Continent.

“We’re very optimistic about the next five years of activity, building on the strong foundation now established from working directly with Pacific public service leaders and our MFAT and regional partners” said Tania Ott, Deputy Commissioner Public Service Fale.

“MFAT is delighted to be signing a refreshed MoU with the Fale – public sector strengthening is aligned with  our priority area of support for strengthened democratic norms and accountable institutions and public services in the Pacific region” said Hayden Everett, Unit Manager, MFAT.
